Information You Can Use to Manage an Effective Youth Soccer Organization

Marketing Materials
Kentucky Youth Soccer recently introduced Template Driven Marketing materials that are available to our entire membership.  In this highly competitive environment for attracting and retaining new soccer players, we understand the need to get your association's name and product in front of as many prospective players as possible.

Posters, brochures, rack cards, we have them all.  To get more information or how to download these templates, please click here.
IRS Changes

Up until recently, only larger charitable, tax exempt organizations (organizations with annual gross receipts of more than $25,000), have had to file an annual report-Form 990 or Form 990-EZ-with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Now, tax exempt exemptions (generally those organizations having a section 501(c)(3) tax exemption) normally having annual gross receipts of $25,000 or less have to file a new annual form with the IRS.

To learn more about this subject, please see this memo from Larry Monaco, President of US Youth Soccer.
ODP/PDP Tryout Info
Pre-registration online for the 2008-2009 Olympic Development Program (ODP) and Player Development Program (PDP) try-outs is now available.  Tryouts are open to all soccer players resident in Kentucky in the 1992-1997 age groups.  Over the last two years, a number of new events and training sessions have been added to strengthen the program statewide and regionally, and we hope that 2008-2009 will be our best year to date.

New Policies in Effect
At the June 28 meeting, the state board of directors approved revisions to the Trapped Player Policy and Transfer Policy beginning for the Fall 2008 season.

The revised trapped policy simply reads that a player must be a true Under 15 player and must be in 8th grade to be considered a trapped player. To read the entire policy, go here.

The amended transfer policy was based on feedback we received throughout the year from various club administrators, Directors of Coaching, and parents regarding the Player Transfer Policy.  To understand more about this policy, please click here.

It also important that you notify your parents and players of these changes for the upcoming year.
