US Youth Soccer National Championship Series: Kentucky State Championships

Record 181 Teams Compete in 2008 cup in Lexington and Bowling Green

The Kentucky Youth Soccer State Open Cup is the first step in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, the nation's premier youth soccer tournament. The Kentucky State Open Cup was again was played over two weekends in 2008.

The first weekend was played Saturday, Sunday and Monday May 24-26 in Lexington at Masterson Station Park and the second weekend was played Saturday and Sunday May 31-June 1 at Lover's Lane Soccer Complex in Bowling Green.

Winners of the Kentucky State Open Cup advance to US Youth Soccer Region II Championships in Rockford, Illinois June 20-25. Winners of the Regional Competition will advance to the National Championships at Burns Park Soccer Complex in North Little Rock, AR July 22-27.

The Kentucky State Open Cup is open to any properly registered Kentucky Youth Soccer team aged U13-U19 that has competed (or will compete) in a 4 team league in the 2007-08 seasonal year.
